Nicole recently did an interview with Jess Cagle for PEN network. To watch the entire interview go here.

After more than a decade of supporting her husband, Keith Urban, in his sobriety, Nicole Kidman is sharing what she’s learned “as the wife of somebody who’s been through” a struggle with addiction.

Speaking on The Jess Cagle Interview, Kidman told PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly‘s editorial director that she would advise the loved ones of an addict “to get help. To put your hand up, to reach out. There is absolutely help out there. You can’t save somebody, they’ve got to save themselves.”

That lesson, she explains, “Is a very big thing for people like me who go, ‘I can take care of you. I can do it.’ ” Instead of trying to do all the work herself, Kidman realized, “At some point, you just have to say, ‘I love you and I’m here when you decide to do the work. If you don’t, then that’s it.’ “

Urban, who has been open about having battled addiction starting early in his career in the 1990s, checked himself into the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs for a recurring problem with alcohol abuse in 2007 — just four months after he and Kidman tied the knot.

“Nicole listened to her heart and did what she felt was the right thing to do,” Urban told PEOPLE in 2007. “To see that kind of love in action, that’s very moving and deeply inspiring and just makes me want to be a better man.”

The Lion actress stood by her husband’s side every step of the way. “It’s not easy, but there’s an extraordinary life if you do get there through help,” she says.

Nicole returns to the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and they have a fun yet awkward interview ….

When Jimmy keeps getting distracted by Nicole Kidman during their interview, she reminds him of another opportunity he missed to get her number before bringing in her husband Keith Urban to sing about it.

Jimmy, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban draw random categories then try to shout out the same answer at the same time to jinx each other.

The Associated Press shared this article UN Trust Fund to End Violence that Nicole is supporting.

NEW YORK (AP) — Nicole Kidman says that after seeing women and children who were victims of violence in Kosovo 10 years ago, she decided that one of the most important things in her life was to work to help them.

The Academy Award-winning actress told a fundraising dinner Wednesday night marking the 20th anniversary of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, that she has been speaking out ever since “to be a voice for the women who don’t have a voice.”

According to the United Nations, today one in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence — mostly by an intimate partner.

Kidman, who is a goodwill ambassador for UN Women, urged the guests “to undo your wallets,” saying these women and girls “need us who have the ability, who have the money,” to help them.

UN Women said the dinner raised over $105,000, including a $50,000 donation from Kidman.

Over the past two decades, UN Women said the trust fund has provided support to 426 organizations in 136 countries and territories with grants totaling more than $116 million.

The fund’s grants have risen from $1 million in 1997 to supporting $57 million in grants in 2016.

The programs it supports focus on preventing violence, implementing of laws and policies, and improving access to vital services for survivors.

UN Women’s Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka said: “We know that these vital investments in initiatives to end violence have high returns and have already made a difference to millions of women and girls.”

But she said much more needs to be done requiring substantial funding to “bring the scourge of violence against women to an end.”

Nicole spoke with Keith at the AFI Fest about celebrating her 10th anniversary with Keith!

Nicole Kidman recently celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with husband Keith Urban and she shared her secret to her happy marriage.

“Just love. Just love each other, lavish each other with love,” she told PEOPLE at a special screening of her latest film Lion at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles on Friday night. “Also we just happen to like each other too. That works.”

Urban and Kidman have two children together. Kidman also shares two children with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

The role she played in the film as the adopted mother to Dev Patel’s character Saroo was close to her heart because it mirrored the fact that she is an adopted mom in real life to Isabella and Connor Cruise.

“This movie is a love letter to my children,” Kidman told Town and Country magazine recently. “I can see now, for Lion, that it was important to me because I’m a mother with adopted children.”

As for her children with Urban, Kidman said on Friday that watching them grow up has been a blessing.

“They are constantly changing,” she said of her two daughters with Urban, Faith and Sunday.

“It’s just discovering their little spirits and we are so lucky to have them. We really are. They’re love children.”

Kidman says she prides herself on the fact that she was able to honor the character she portrayed in the film and in doing so was able to shine a light on one woman’s commendable conduct.

“Being able to honor this story and Sue the woman I play is just such a powerful, powerful moving tribute to humanity,” she said on Friday. “And the inherent goodness in people.”
